Q: What is the difference between the Theatrical Version and Director’s Cut of Maleficarum?

A: The Director’s Cut has uncut torture scenes, meaning that they are not intercut with anything, each torture scene is represented sequentially.

The Theatrical Version is the version that was presented in movie theaters, and therefore has a different sound mix, soundtrack, and the editing is different. The torture scenes are intercut with the testimonies.

If you’re keen to only watch the torture scenes, and don’t care much about the rest of the film, we recommend the Director’s Cut.

If you prefer to watch the film as a whole, still want uncensored torture scenes, and wish to see a slicker film altogether, choose the Theatrical Version.

In essence, the domain of eroticism is the domain of violence, of violation.
